A Porn-Free Man is a Free Man (Blog #5)
It’s 2025 and there’s no hiding the porn problem. The porn problem being the mass scale sexual content that is immediately accessible from anywhere at any time. AND the deeper layers to that problem - the trauma, rape, child abuse, psychopathy , distorted sexuality, human trafficking, and endless amounts of exploitation.
The sad reality is that, if you’re using porn, you are most likely a slave to it.
I know because I was a slave to porn. And although I haven’t used it in over a year, I still sometimes feel like a slave. That’s because of what porn has done to my brain. Seeing countless videos of people having sex in exploitative, disconnected, and often-times violent ways has programmed my mind to a certain lens that I see the world around me. There’s so much work that I do and have done, but the effects of 15-20 years of internet porn consumption has left scars on my body, mind and soul ; of which are extremely difficult to rewire, heal and even understand.
I say this with hope. I have experienced EXTRAORDINARY results on my inner state just from not using porn, and having strong inner boundaries on my behavior and conscious thoughts. I freed myself, and although there are still chains, I’m becoming a damn good chain-breaker. Healing is practice. “Doing the work” is a daily dance. And quitting porn and healing from its effects is done most effectively one step at a time.
But don’t throw your hands in the air because the road is hard. Take your damn steps. Stopping porn use has allowed me to look back at it from more than just an addict’s (everyday user) eyes. I get to re-sensitize my brain and look back with empathy, and therefore see a clearer picture.
That change in perspective right there… THAT is freedom. I’m positive you have experienced something in your life that you broke free from. Some inner transformation where a shift in perspective, a new insight, or a healing experience completely altered your relationship to something for the better (also known as transmuting). I bet this felt liberating. As humans with individual and collective traumas, living in a world of fast dopamine, blue light screens and overwhelm, we have a lot to transmute.
I invite YOU to use porn as your next chain to break. It won’t be easy, but that freedom feels damn good. Here’s a list of things that porn stood in the way from in my life, and I’m sure you can relate. ALL of these things have become super fulfilling and pure areas in my life. Here we go….
A fully expressive and consciously pleasurable sex life (I bet you want that, brother. Porn can NEVER be that)
Clarity on my purpose and meaningful work based on service (What are you building in/as your life? Porn takes your thoughts when they should be on creating the life of your dreams)
That leads me to creative energy. I now have great stores of creative energy (Everyday ejaculation to porn is a leach for creative energy)
Deeply meaningful friendships with people who can see me - and who I have pure energy with because of my own healing.
A connection with my partner whom I get to be completely honest with and therefore SEEN by. I get to give my energy to connection and to being a present partner.
That’s just to name a few. And my intention clearly stated in the title is to show you that without porn, you can be so much more free.
